With the popularity of automated equipment, textile machinery continues to evolve. However, in China, textile workshops are often isolated from information networks and information communication technology needs to improve.
With its superior products and complete network solutions, Delta Group recently built a smart factory monitoring and control system and manufacturing management network in a world-renowned enterprise's yarn factory in China. The system was successfully applied to system management and information transportation, and provided intelligent, visualization and a green solution for the yarn factory.
This yarn factory has 100,000 spinning mills and belongs to a prestigious listed textile company. The company required factory manufacturing management, real-time monitoring and control, a high-speed system network and reliable control units for spinning mills to bring about intelligent manufacturing management and factory monitoring.
The solution to the company’s requirements was to build a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). In general, an MES is a bridge that connects the management layer and on-site workshops. It collects manufacturing, quality, monitoring information from the factory, production lines and workshop units. It can also conduct data management and workshop manufacturing planning and scheduling.
To satisfy the customer requirements at the yarn factory, Delta Industrial Automation cooperated with a high school in China and successfully built an MES with automation products and network solutions.
Delta’s MES includes function modules for system management, user management, process monitoring, facility management, report output system, web monitoring, fault alarm and more. This system adopts Delta’s DVP-SS/EH Series PLC with multiple communication ports and built-in Ethernet communication ports for rapid information collection from a variety of intelligent equipment. In addition, Delta’s MES can modify systems and collect information from automation facilities, such as inverters, temperature controllers or specified controllers, through only one signal processing method. This greatly enhances the reliability and speed of information communication and collection.
Delta’s MES successfully connected 300 facilities and satisfied the needs of real-time monitoring with a lower cabling cost. Bringing visualization to smart factory management helped the company easily master real-time production.
To further promote networked, automated and intelligent manufacturing, Delta organized a textile industry development department to aim at textile technology research and development. Delta will keep on working to provide more advanced products and complete industrial solutions, helping more customers realize the latest in smart manufacturing.
